For Sharing, For Reflection, For Inquiry... This could be great generator for questioning too, similar to a "wonderings wall".

VoiceThread is an online media album that can hold images, documents and videos and allows people to make comments in 5 different ways - using voice (with a microphone or telephone), text, audio file, or video (with a webcam), sharing them with anyone they wish.

A VoiceThread allows group conversations to be collected and shared in one place, from anywhere in the world.


      1. Go to
      2. Click On "Sign In or Register" and then on "Register" (in yellow)
      3. Continue with details to sign in.
      4. Once you have signed in, Click on the down arrow by your name (Top RHS) and go into your Account Details
      5. Click on "Go Pro" to get an educator account.

      7. Don't be deterred by the cost - Teachers get it for free!!
      8. Scroll down to K-12 Educators, Click here and Click There :-) (see below)

      10. Fill in all the sections using your school address. Click Apply
      11. Check your school email inbox. Click on the link in the email to confirm your Pro Account.

    • Settings: Public No Comments
    • Comment Moderation – off
    • Listed on browser - No

  • To Add Identities To Your Own Voicethread Account And Avoid The Need For Students To Set Up Their Own.
    1. Your students will need internet consent forms which cover voice, image, work. Top RHS of screen you’ll see a down arrow beside your account image
    2. Click on this – Select ‘My Account’.
    3. Click the + sign next to “Add an Indentity’.
    4. Choose a name for the identity. Consider Cybersafety issues, Do not use surnames.
    5. Upload image, a piece of artwork or an avatar created by the student to represent themselves.
    6. Click ‘Save’ in the pop-up opens showing details of that identity.
    7. Continue until all done.

  • To Swap Between Identities:
    1. Click the current identity image at bottom of screen, and select a new one.
